Frequently Asked Questions
What does HTML minification remove?
This tool removes HTML comments, deletes whitespace between tags, and collapses any remaining runs of spaces and line breaks into a single space. Tags, attributes, and text content are otherwise left unchanged.
Can minifying HTML change how my page looks?
Occasionally. Whitespace inside <pre> and <textarea> elements is significant and will be collapsed, and removing spaces between inline elements such as links or buttons can remove the visible gap between them. Review the output if your page relies on either.
Does minified HTML help SEO?
Search engines read minified and formatted HTML the same way. The benefit is a smaller download, which can slightly improve page speed and Core Web Vitals. Server-side gzip or Brotli compression usually saves even more.
