Password Generator
Generate strong, cryptographically secure random passwords with custom character sets, lengths, and strength meters.
Generator Options
Your text is mixed with random casing, look-alike substitutions and random characters to fill the chosen length. Text longer than the length is trimmed.
How to Use the Password Generator
- Set the password length with the slider (6 to 64 characters).
- Choose which character types to include: uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
- Optionally exclude ambiguous characters, or enter base text to build a password around a word you'll remember.
- Copy the generated password, use one from the bulk batch, or click "Regenerate Passwords" for new ones.
Password Generator Features

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the generated passwords secure?
Yes. Passwords are generated with the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues), a cryptographically secure random generator, entirely in your browser. They are never sent to a server or stored.
How long should my password be?
Aim for at least 16 random characters for important accounts. Length adds more strength than complexity, and a password manager means you never have to remember long passwords yourself.
What does the Base Text option do?
It mixes a word you choose with random casing, look-alike substitutions (such as $ for s), and random characters to reach the selected length. This makes the password easier to recognize, but it's less random than a fully generated one because cracking tools know common substitutions. For high-value accounts, leave Base Text empty.
What are ambiguous characters?
Characters that look alike in many fonts, such as i, l, 1, L, o, 0, and O. Excluding them makes passwords easier to read and type by hand, with a small reduction in randomness.
